Japanese Manga

Art Magazine by Osamu Tezuka | COM Magazine

COM (コム Komu) was a magazine started in 1967 by the man known as the Godfather of manga, Osamu Tezuka. (Of Astro Boy fame) It's purpose was for Tezuka and other artists to have an avenue to showcase more avant-garde and experimental manga.

As the final publication was in 1972, this magazine was a bit before my time so I've never come across it. I've been eyeing up vintage copies on Yahoo Auctions, purely based on the cover art (how amazing is it though!) and the fact that the catch phrase is "Specialist Manga Publication for the Manga Elite".  I'm sure they are packed with weirdness and inspiration - so tempted!!⁣
